QA workflow for testing staging prior to deploying new code to production

Cross Compatibility Testing:

Desktop: Test on IE11, Firefox and Chrome. Resize for smaller tablet layout. Test on Windows PC and MacBook.

Phone: Test on small iPhone (5 or SE) with Safari; Test on large Android phone with Chrome.

Homepage:

                Scroll down to view entire homepage. Check header and footer.

                Select About, FAQ, and Contact from the sub-navigation menu bar and view pages.

Featured topics:

                Click “Alchemy” Featured Topic icon on the home page.

                Scroll through default results page.

                Search for “Mercury” within “Alchemy”.

                Select an image and view the item show page.

                Click download button below one of the thumbnails and select a Small JPEG. Open JPEG file.

Image Viewer:

From the Search results page for “Mercury” within “Alchemy”, select a multi-page item.

        From the item’s show page, open the image viewer by clicking View.

        Go back and reopen the item by clicking on the representative image.

Zoom in and out with your mouse. Zoom and in and out with the + and – buttons.

Page through the item using the < and > arrows.

Page through the item by clicking the thumbnails in the bar on the right.

        From within the viewer, click Download button. Download Original File. Open TIFF file.

        Select cross arrows icon for full screen view. Press esc on keyboard to close.

        Select circular arrow and rotate image in a full circle with four clicks.

        Select square icon to reset the image viewer to default view.

Collections:

From homepage, select Browse Collections button and choose “Handling Collection”.

Select each of the different “Sort By” options in the button on top of the results.

                Search for “microscope” within “Handling Collection”.

                Select an image and view the item show page.

Search and Browse:

Click company logo in top left to return to homepage.

From homepage, search for “pH Meter”.

Page through results with “Next” on top of page and selecting page numbers on bottom of page.

Select two facets in the bar on the left to limit search results.

From within Date facet, limit dates to a new range and press “Apply”.

Deselect one of your facets.

Select “Start Over” from the top of the results page.

From search box on results page, search for “women” and check the “public domain” box.
