Implementation question: MODS and approximate ranges (dev call 2015-03-04)
MODS allows approximate dates / date ranges / approximate date ranges for "date created". Notes: have begin date and end date (or earliest and latest) as separate fields. use a "free text" field "display version" to say approximately x-y. Use Europeana rather than VRA. Implementation question: caching authoritative linked data (dev call 2015-03-04)
strategies for caching authoritative linked data: oregon digital (talk to trey about his implementation) using mongo with rdf repo adapter on top of it (but they're switching to marmotta for: a real sparql endpoint; ldcache). jcoyne found marmotta to give lots of errors. wrote an rdf repo for solr. cache in a sql database (there is an adapter for this already) (in notes: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/hydra/Hydra+Tech+Call+2015-03-04)
