Digital Collections Diversity Audit

GOALS:

  • Conduct a quantitative analysis of collections records to learn how many digital collections reflect some life experience/dimension of identity other than that of cis-het, white, non-disabled males.

  • Identify areas to improve collection diversity and representation. Prioritize collection digitization and acquisitions from this data.

  • Identify records that need improved records and reparative descriptions.

  • Gain familiarity with digital collections holdings for general knowledge and inspiration for social media promotion.

PROCESS PLANNING:

  1. Choose areas of identity to investigate: Confer with Reparative Description Team for help with deciding categories.
