Generate key and csr
sudo su
cd /etc/ssl/private
openssl genrsa -des3 -out server.pass.key 2048
# store the password in the Authentication file
openssl rsa -in server.pass.key -out server.key
openssl req -nodes -new -key server.key -out server.csr
openssl req -newkey rsa:2048 -nodes -sha256 -keyout server.key -out server.csr

mv server.pass.key private/
cd private
chown root:ssl-cert server.*
chmod 640 server.*
Generally it's better to name the key and csr after the server itself, e.g. hydra-chemheritage-org.csr; you can rename them after creation.
